BBSmates Newsletter Topics for Wednesday, November 26, 2003 Happy Thanksgiving! Have a greet weekend, and don't forget to tell your family about BBSmates and what a wonderful impact it has made on your life! :) hehe =================================================================== New Database Field =================================================================== Date of Birth ------------- I don't know why I didn't have this field in there to begin with, but anyways.. Go to the site, Log in, and click Edit Profile and if you don't mind giving out this information, please enter your Date of Birth into the appropriate box and click Update. Now your age will be displayed on your user profile page. Thanks! http://www.bbsmates.com/profile.asp If you have an idea for a field that could make searching more helpful, please give me your suggestions. =================================================================== Door Games =================================================================== If you haven't been to the site in a while, BBSmates has added a new telnet door game, Usurper. Also, there is a new Trade Wars game running under Trade Wars Game Server, a 32-bit version of the game which runs much better under Windows. =================================================================== Cool BBS Link =================================================================== From now on in the newsletters I've decided to include a link to a cool (IMHO) BBS-related web site. BBS: A Documentary Although the documentary is not yet completed (expected in 2004), this website still offers a lot of great information about the history of BBSing and the technology surrounding it. The site also has some clips from a few of the interviews. This has been the sole endeavor of Jason Scott, the guy who helped me get started with the data for BBSmates. So check out this website and keep this project in mind. I for one, can't wait til it's released! http://www.bbsdocumentary.com =================================================================== Yep. =================================================================== I also added a new DHTML style menu system to the website. What do you all think? Let me know if you have any problems with it. FYI: If you have JavaScript disabled in your browser, the menu's will default back to the regular old HTML links. NEW POLL - Which door game should be added next?
